In 2009, a passion for motorcycles combined with a passion for our homeland, Garfagnana, gave rise to MotorradToskana; a new and slightly different way to explore the characteristic places and landscapes of a still little-known corner of Tuscany. MotorradToskana organizes short trips to more challenging tours, from individual to group trips, from food and wine road tours to off-road tours with Maxi Enduros and 4x4s, as well as collaborations with tour operators to promote Upper Tuscany. In 2025, MotorradToskana became an Amateur Sports Association with the aim of promoting and enhancing two- and four-wheel tourism as a sporting, cultural, and social experience. In 2026, it became an affiliate of AiCS, a sports and tourism promotion organization recognized by CONI. Garfagnana is the name of the Upper Serchio Valley, a corner of north-western Tuscany, enclosed between the Apuan Alps, the precious marble mountains and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines with their undulating, grassy slopes. In the middle of all this is the valley, a land rich in natural parks (Parco delle Apuane, Parco dell'Orecchiella, Parco del Monte Argegna, Parco dell'Appennino Tosco - Emiliano), Lipu Oasis, WWF and caves, hermitages and Romanesque churches, majesties and country churches, castles and fortresses, walled villages of medieval origin, mysterious witnesses of a millenary culture that still survives in local customs and traditions. The discovery of this great land is nothing more than following in the footsteps of saints, pilgrims and soldiers, shepherds, farmers and quarrymen, and thus rediscovering forgotten balances in the beauty, scents, flavours and colours of this enchanted corner of Tuscany.
